About Sun.store

  • sun.store is the biggest B2B marketplace for solar and energy storage components in Europe — ranked #1 fastest-growing startup in Europe by Sifted's Future 50 in 2024.
  • Launched in October 2023, we already process €100m+ GMV annually, serve 45,000+ B2B users across 40+ countries, operate as a truly pan-European platform (90% of transactions cross borders), and are backed by leading VC investors.
  • The European consumer electronics market was valued at $273 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach $376 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 5.6%. Smartphones, laptops, tablets, wearables, smart home devices, audio systems: demand is accelerating across every segment, driven by 5G adoption, AI integration, and the EU's push for sustainable, energy-efficient products. We are building the B2B marketplace to capture this growth.

Responsibilities

  • Business Unit P&L: Own the GMV, revenue, and margin targets for the Electronics BU. Define what success looks like and track it relentlessly across the full product portfolio.
  • Supplier Development: Identify, recruit, and onboard key manufacturers and distributors — from global brands (Samsung, Apple, Sony, LG, Philips, Lenovo, Asus, Xiaomi) to emerging European and Asian players. Build a competitive, comprehensive assortment across smartphones, laptops, tablets, wearables, audio systems, smart home devices, and accessories.
  • Pricing & Assortment Strategy: Develop sharp pricing frameworks in a category under significant pressure from competition. Balance competitiveness with margin discipline. Monitor brand share shifts and new product launches to keep the assortment ahead of market demand.
  • Demand Activation: Collaborate with Growth and Sales teams to drive buyer acquisition and conversion. Design category campaigns, bundling strategies, and technical content that helps buyers make confident, fast purchasing decisions.
  • Market Intelligence: Track pricing trends, brand dynamics, and new product launches across the consumer electronics landscape. Translate market signals — product cycles, component shortages, competitor moves — into sourcing decisions and positioning strategy.
  • AI-First Operations: Leverage automation, pricing intelligence tools, and AI-assisted workflows to manage a technically complex, rapidly evolving category at scale — without proportional headcount growth.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in category management, commercial development, or business development.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the consumer electronics category, proven with a strong network of brand, distributor, and wholesale contacts.
  • Proven track record of building or scaling a product category or business unit from scratch — you know what it takes to go from zero to revenue.
  • Strong supplier relationship skills — comfortable negotiating commercial terms, managing partnerships, and building long-term agreements with manufacturers and distributors.
  • Data-driven approach — you use pricing, conversion, margin, and inventory data to guide sourcing and growth decisions.
  • Readiness to work in a hybrid model from our office in Warsaw, Poland.
  • Fluency in English (C1+) — the working language of the company.

Candidate Profile & Mindset

  • Category specialist meets platform builder: You understand the consumer electronics business — the products, the supply chain, the buyers. And you are excited about building a digital marketplace around it.
  • Startup spirit: Readiness to thrive in a dynamic environment and build processes from scratch. We look for someone who wants to test and apply new approaches every day — this mindset matters the most.
  • AI-First operator: We are a lean organisation that scales through automation, not headcount. Candidates motivated primarily by managing large teams are not the right fit. We need someone who builds high-output, technology-driven systems.
  • Ownership mindset: This is your business unit. You define the strategy, make the calls, and are fully accountable for the results. We offer autonomy in exchange for ownership.

Team Structure & Evolution

  • Current state: Initially, this role acts as the strategic and operational brain of the Electronics BU, leveraging our central execution teams (Marketing, Sales, SDR, and Merchant Success) to drive results without a large direct team from day one.
  • Future scaling: As the category grows, there is significant potential to build a dedicated BU team. Functional roles may report directly or have a dual-reporting line to the Head of BU: Electronics over time.

Compensation

  • Attractive salary package.
  • Performance bonus tied to BU GMV, margin, and supplier growth KPIs.
  • Potential ESOP package.
  • Open compensation policy: we will not disqualify strong candidates based on salary expectations. Our priority is to find the right talent and mindset first.
