About Decade Energy
Who We Are
Founded in 2024, Decade Energy powers the electrification of road transport by developing, financing, and operating the infrastructure—grid upgrades, battery energy storage (BESS), EV charging, and optimization software—that enables fleets to electrify. Our mission is simple: make electric the most competitive option for road transport.
With roots in the Volta Trucks journey and firsthand experience supporting Europe’s largest fleets, our team brings deep expertise across energy, mobility, and project finance. Backed by leading climate investors, we’re committed to helping build the next generation of energy-ready transport sites.
Who We Serve
We support transport operators and real estate owners, two groups navigating the challenges of grid capacity, financing, and rising energy costs.
What We Deliver
Securing long-term power supply by guaranteeing grid connection and capacity for future electrification needs.
Creating new revenue streams by monetizing EV charging services, and installing BESS on unused site space.
Removing investment barriers by covering the full cost of electrification infrastructure.
Delivering plug-and-play charging with seamless AC or DC installation aligned to fleet deployment.
Lowering electricity costs through hardware, software and contract optimization.
This end-to-end approach empowers our customers to build the Depot of the Future: a modern, resilient, cost-optimized logistics site ready for full fleet electrification.
Role Summary
The Energy Markets team is responsible for securing, modelling, and optimizing market revenues for the company’s assets and new products. It leads route-to-market workstreams, supports financing through bankable revenue modelling, assesses market risks and opportunities, and contributes to strategic decisions on deployment, expansion, and product development.
Decade Energy is expanding its Energy Markets capabilities to support the launch of new flexible energy products and the financing of energy infrastructure assets. As Senior Energy Markets Analyst, you will own quantitative analyses and bankable business plans that inform investment decisions, route-to-market strategies, and product launches.
You will build revenue models for storage, EV charging and other flexible energy products, quantify upside and downside cases, and help decide which products Decade should launch. The role is particularly focused on new product development in France, with additional exposure to international market expansion.
Product and international expansion
Build bankable business plans for new products, including revenue stack modelling, cost assumptions, risk analysis, sensitivities and downside cases.
Assess new product opportunities in the French market, including regulatory fit, market access, revenue potential, operational constraints and financing implications.
Compare countries and product opportunities using a clear decision framework: market size, accessible revenues, regulatory barriers, route-to-market options, counterparties and financing risks.
Support international expansion through structured country screening: market design, revenue mechanisms, regulatory risks, counterparties and route-to-market options.
Route-to-market
Prepare the analyses used in discussions with aggregators (BSPs, BRPs): expected revenues, fee structures, risk-sharing mechanisms, downside scenarios and key contractual assumptions.
Build the revenue cases, sensitivity tables and downside scenarios used to assess whether a route-to-market or offtake structure is financeable.
Revenue modelling and financing support
Build and maintain revenue models for storage, EV charging and other flexible energy products.
Define and document key assumptions: market prices, activation volumes, capacity factors, fees, penalties, curtailment, degradation and availability.
Produce sensitivities and downside cases that can be reviewed by finance teams, lenders and commercial counterparties.
Work with finance and product teams to ensure that market revenues, operating constraints and contractual risks are reflected in business plans.
Market intelligence and team structuring
Build internal market knowledge on power markets, regulatory developments, and revenue mechanisms.
Contribute to structuring the team: build reusable modelling templates and review processes so business plans can be produced faster and with consistent quality.
Improve internal tools to increase delivery efficiency and ensure results quality.
